Scripture has a lot to say about the cup, both in the Old Testament and New.  And by the time we come to Christ's reference to the cup as it relates to the Passover, the meaning is even more sobering and profound; and encompasses aspects of both the Old and NewTestament uses of the word cup.  The cup sybmbolizes 1)Our opportunity for Salvation; 2)Our commitment to love one another; 3)Our desire and commitmemt to give to the work of God; 4)Our trust in God to sustain and preserve us; 5)The overwhelming offer of Eternal LIfe; 6)The vow that we made at baptism; 7)The new covenant in Christ's blood that was shed for you.
